At Cornick Ndlovu, PLC, we understand that being part of the community goes beyond the courtroom. We are committed to supporting initiatives that promote fairness, opportunity, and enrichment in Fredericksburg and beyond. That’s why we were proud to sponsor Legal Aid Works’ Jazz4Justice event on November 1, a celebration that combines music, advocacy, and philanthropy to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.
Jazz4Justice enjoys a long-standing tradition of giving back. For nearly 25 years, the event has raised awareness and funds for Legal Aid Works, helping provide free civil legal services to those who need them most. In addition, it supports music programs and scholarships for aspiring musicians, fostering growth in both the legal and artistic communities. To date, over 75 Jazz4Justice concerts have been held across Virginia and the District of Columbia, raising nearly $1,000,000 to support these vital causes.
Making an Impact in Fredericksburg
Through our sponsorship, we were able to join a collaborative effort that bridges the legal, business, music, and education communities. Our own Attorney Natey Ndlovu serves on the board of Jazz4Justice, further reinforcing our dedication to civic engagement and meaningful community partnerships.
Jazz4Justice concerts are designed to benefit the community in many ways:
- Partnering Across Communities. The event thrives on collaboration between law firms, Bar Associations, Legal Aid organizations, schools, and local businesses, creating a network of support that strengthens both legal access and educational opportunities.
- Celebrating Music & Talent. Each concert features live jazz performances and highlights young musicians through scholarships and educational programs. This focus on music education inspires students while providing a memorable experience for attendees of all ages.
- Engaging the Community. Held at venues such as local performing arts centers, school auditoriums, and community spaces, Jazz4Justice concerts welcome audiences from across the region and encourage widespread participation.
- Honoring Tradition & Creativity. A unique aspect of the program is the inclusion of a Guest Conductor (often a local attorney, media personality, or community supporter) who joins the musicians on stage, adding a personal and celebratory touch to the event.
- Fostering Connection & Collaboration. Post-concert jam sessions invite audience members to play alongside the performers, creating intergenerational interaction and a sense of shared accomplishment within the community.
- Raising Awareness & Support. Beyond the music, the concerts generate funding and visibility for Legal Aid Works, helping provide free civil legal services to those in need. Proceeds also support scholarships and programs that nurture the next generation of musicians. Donate today!
